- Primary point of contact/ interface for key customer (s) for quality issues.
- Drive and support cross-functional team activities to conduct root cause investigations and implement solutions using 8D methodology for customer complaints, issues, and escalations.
- Facilitate and support problem solving efforts in manufacturing using quality tools such as 8D, 4C, Ishikawa, 5Why, 5S, pFMEA, SPC, DOE.
- RMA process owner: Track, drive and provide status updates internally as well as to customer.
- Provide accurate data & Failure Analysis reports for each RMA in a timely manner.
- Track, drive and provide status on customer initiated continuous improvement topics.
- Maintain Quality Metrics and drive continuous improvement to achieve the Quality goals as needed.
- Responsibility for driving preventive quality measures in manufacturing, such as pFMEAs, control plans, SOPs, internal audits, supplier audits and evaluation, training/training effectiveness, etc.
- Create and deploy standardized inspection plans across all product lines, from incoming goods inspection to outgoing product inspection.
- Develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems
- Responsible to provide disposition for on-hold product/ material timely manner to support OTD.
- Performs internal audits, documents audit findings, drives solution of issues found during internal audits and reports audit findings to management.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
- Occasional travel may be required for supplier or HQ site visits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Material Science or Electrical engineering or related discipline required,
- Master’s degree or specialization in Quality Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years (Bachelor’s) or 6 years (Master’s) combined work experience in Product/ Customer Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Quality Engineering.
- Structured problem-solving skills to drive to root cause and solid understanding of Quality tools, 8D, Ishikawa, 5Why, 5S, pFMEA, SPC, DOE, Gr&R
- Customer RMA Failure Analysis (FA)/ management experience
- Strong data collection and analysis skills; understanding of statistics and control charts
- Experience with statistical data analysis packages like JMP or Minitab
- ISO 9001 or other QMS standards (e.g. IATF 1649, AS 9100) working experience
- Experience in standing up new quality management systems
- Cryogenic testing experience not required but highly desired
- Experience working with or within R&D environments and/or complex or high-tech manufacturing a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
