As Quantum Technical Manager, you will manage a team of approximately 5 direct reports who are working to translate fundamental atomic physics to a scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computer. Day-to-day responsibilities range from project management, infrastructure development, budgeting decisions as well as technical mentoring and individual contributions.Â
Job Requirements
- Hire, develop, and manage a team of high-performing quantum engineers
- Contribute 30-50% of your time on hands-on Quantum Engineering projects
- Maintain ongoing communication with technical managers, project leaders, and peers to ensure work is allocated effectively and efficiently
- Help to provide logistical support to create the infrastructure for the team to accomplish their goals. eg. lab buildout & maintenance, HVAC, power infrastructure, components, supplies, etc.
Experience & Education
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 years industry experience

- Temperamentally suited to work at a fast-growing, early stage startup: self-motivated, humble, driven, collaborative, and has a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a changing work environment
- Ability and passion for hiring the best Quantum Engineers from academia and industry
- Familiarity with Python and Git software version control

The base salary range for this position is between $175,000 – $200,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer a bonus plan and incentive stock options for equity in the company.
