Colorado governor approves $74M to incentivize state's quantum industry
A $74 million incentive package is now on the table for quantum-based companies looking to grow in Colorado — pending another award from the federal government.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Tuesday signed a bill dedicating the state funds to bolster the quantum industry, underscoring a year-long race to win federal “tech hub” designation that industry players say would unlock billions for the emerging technology.
Under parameters of the new state law, Colorado will invest the $74 million if the state is awarded $40-$70 million in federal funding as part of second-phase application in the tech hub process.
