Elevate Quantum Joins New Mexico Governor to Kick Off IEEE Quantum Week
The quantum world comes together next week in Albuquerque for IEEE Quantum Week, a week-long event that combines the academic and industrial sectors of quantum technology, drawing in researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, educators, students, and newcomers alike for a multidimensional exploration of quantum innovation.
IEEE Quantum Week will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center August 31 – September 5, building on the quantum momentum in New Mexico.
Elevate Quantum will help kick off the quantum celebration, with Elevate Quantum CEO Zachary Yerushalmi delivering the opening keynote on September 1 at 8am.
His presentation – “Schrödinger’s Pitch: Telling the Quantum Story in a Binary Age of Hype and Indifference” – will feature three segments, including remarks from New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham:
1. Introducing the New Mexico & Mountain West Quantum Ecosystem and Stoking a Community Conversation on the Art and Science of Evangelizing Quantum
This segment will showcase the momentum behind the world-leading quantum ecosystem in New Mexico & the Mountain West. It also aims to spark a conversation on how to tell our industry's story to a broad range of important stakeholders, from the technical to the wider public, to garner the excitement and maintain the trust required to unlock the full potential of quantum.
2. How to Start Your Quantum Community
A panel of globally leading venture capitalists and startups will explore what it takes to begin a quantum startup, and how to accelerate development for those already on the journey. This segment will combine live pitch feedback with practical insights into launching and scaling companies at the frontier of quantum.

3. Showcasing New Mexico’s Vision
The final segment will showcase the New Mexico quantum ecosystem and feature remarks from Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. She will share her vision of building a thriving economy powered by quantum, one that creates opportunity not just for New Mexicans, but for everyone ready to embark on this exciting journey.
