Ana Valdes-Curiel is a physicist with over 10 years of experience working with quantum technologies. She received her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland and held a postdoctoral appointment at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Her research focused on experimental AMO physics and she used ultra-cold atom systems for quantum quantum simulation and quantum sensing applications. Prior to joining Elevate Quantum, Ana spent nearly four years as a research scientist at the Amazon Web Services Center for Quantum Computing where she contributed to the device monitoring and optimization effort. Her work at AWS mostly focused on identifying noise sources that contribute to qubit errors and decoherence and developing measurement standards that can be used to reliably benchmark qubit performance.
