Role & Responsibilities:
Quantum faces the challenge of three job openings for every one qualified candidate. To realize the promise of quantum and ensure equal opportunity for all individuals, we must do something differently. EQ’s mission is both to realize quantum advancements earlier and more effectively, while also ensuring that everyone in our region and country can benefit.
To do that, we need a Workforce Fellow who is ready to play a pivotal role in supporting the governance, strategy, and collaboration efforts of the organization’s workforce-related initiatives. This individual will work with EQ’s workforce-focused officers and EQ’s academic partners (such as the University of Colorado) to implement the strategies critical to growing the quantum workforce.
The ideal candidate is looking to become a known leader in quantum workforce development and has a desire to develop the skills and foundational relationships necessary to excel in a role with foundational career impact.
To be specific, the Workforce Fellow will focus on four core activities:
- Day-to-Day Project Management of EQWC-led initiatives: Overseeing the broader project management of initiatives being led by members of the Elevate Quantum Workforce Collaborative (EQWC), ensuring that proper collaboration is happening and that key milestones are being met. Reporting to the EQ officer team on progress and making recommendations for addressing any identified challenges.
- Planning and Execution for Workforce Collaborative Engagement: Helping define the different platforms (events, meetings, website, etc.) for engaging workforce-minded stakeholders, and working with EQ’s partners to implement those initiatives.
- Strategic Communications and Resource Development: Developing the materials necessary to support the communication of EQ’s workforce strategy, ongoing initiatives, workforce-related research, and how stakeholders can get involved. Working with members of our advisory boards and other strategic partners to increase community awareness and grow the EQWC.
- Collaboration with EDA Tech Hub Funded Partners: Being the point person for EQ’s Tech Hub funded partners (NCWIT, Front Range Community College, Womanium, CNM-I, among others). Working closely with project management leaders from partner organizations to ensure integration between all projects.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- A passion for workforce and ecosystem development topics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and reporting systems.
Application Process:
Interested candidates should submit their resume letter detailing their relevant experience and why they are a good fit for this role to jessi@elevatequantum.org.
