About Elevate Quantum:

Elevate Quantum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to dramatically accelerating the pace of innovation in quantum from the industry’s largest cluster, the Mountain West. With a consortium that includes over 120 organizations spanning Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming, Elevate Quantum is uniquely positioned to transform cutting-edge research into world-changing companies. Our mission is to ensure U.S. economic and strategic security and to establish leadership in the Quantum Century.

Elevate Quantum is recognized as a Designated TechHub by the U.S. Department of Commerce, a testament to our role in advancing quantum technology. This designation has brought significant federal and state investments, including a $40.5 million Phase 2 award and $84 million in state incentives, aimed at scaling our operations and ensuring sustained growth and innovation in quantum technology.

EQ’s mission is both to realize quantum advancements earlier and more effectively, but also to ensure that everyone in our region and country can benefit. In close collaboration with industry and academic partners, Elevate Quantum is building open-access lab and fabrication facilities in Arvada, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The lab facilities will provide start-up companies affordable research and development space and access to critical test equipment to advance their quantum technologies. In Colorado, Elevate Quantum, in collaboration with Colorado School of Mines and Octave Photonics, is building a Photonics Integrated Circuit (PIC) facility for rapid turn-around, low-volume, commercial-grade, PIC device fabrication. In New Mexico, in collaboration with University of Mexico and Sandia National Labs, Elevate Quantum is building a heterogeneous integration and packaging facility to provide packaging capabilities to the commercial quantum ecosystem. These facilities will lower the barriers of commercial development of key quantum technologies and accelerate innovation.

The Sr. Program and Lab Manager will play a critical role in the success of building and operating these services.

Role & Responsibilities:

The Sr. Program and Lab Manager position is multi-faceted and must adapt with the program needs over the upcoming years. Their core job is to collaborate with stakeholders in the build of the Colorado and New Mexico lab and fabrication facilities. Once these facilities are built and operational, the Sr. Program and Lab Manager will be responsible for successful daily operations. They will work closely with industry partners as well as the Colorado School of Mines, Octave Photonics, University of New Mexico, and Sandia National Lab, especially during the build-phase of the project.

More specifically, the Sr. Program and Lab Manager will be responsible for:

  • Project Management of Lab and Fab Builds: The first two years are anticipated to be largely focused on establishing the program’s foundation including developing project plans and timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing risk-management, and ensuring milestones are met.

  • Support of the Fab Facilities: Strategic oversight of the CO and working closely with the New Mexico Heterogeneous Integration packaging facility. Working closely with the Fab teams to ensure smooth operation and clear and timely communication of these facilities’ needs.
  • Procurement and Maintenance of Equipment and Supplies: Purchasing all equipment and supplies required to build the Lab and Fab facilities and thereafter ensuring all equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Building a Best-in-Class Customer Success Team: Hiring and management of key personnel to support the Colorado and New Mexico facilities. Hiring Lab Technicians and ensuring they are sufficiently trained to support and maintain lab equipment. Performing periodic performance reviews and development plans.
  • Reporting and Communicating to the Executive Team: Creating performance reports and communicating future needs to maintain and grow the Fabs and Labs, to the CCO and Elevate Quantum Executive Team and Stakeholders, in a timely manner.

  • Government Contracting and Other Program Management Support: From time-to-time the Sr. Program and Lab Manager will support the needs of the Executive Team related to government contracting or other program management.
