Role & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Quantum Ecosystem Fellow to join our fast-paced, mission-driven team. This individual will be a critical member of Elevate Quantum’s project management team with a particular focus on supporting the successful development and launch of our Photon Integrated Circuit (PIC) fabrication and quantum packaging facilities in addition to driving successful efforts to attract and retain quantum companies in the Mountain West. This role requires an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individual capable of managing complex, multi-phase projects from early strategic planning through operational launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day project management in support of the launch of Elevate Quantum’s fabrication and packaging facilities along with other special projects, ensuring alignment with grant milestones, organizational goals, and partner expectations.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including technical teams, vendors, contractors, and government partners.
- Track key implementation milestones such as:
- Hiring timelines and onboarding for facility personnel
- Equipment selection, procurement, and installation
- Facility buildout and calibration
- Pilot runs and first production
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets; proactively identify and manage risks, delays, and dependencies.
- Help drive project management for quantum business attraction efforts coordinating between EQ, state, local, academic, and private sector players. Manage overall tracking and follow through on priority site selection efforts.
- Coordinate site visits with senior personnel from top quantum companies helping drive home the vision for the Mountain West quantum ecosystem.
- Support organization-wide reporting on tracking towards key milestones.
- Support reporting for federal grants and other funders, ensuring timely and accurate data collection and documentation.
- Contribute to the refinement of internal systems and processes needed to support a growing and evolving nonprofit in startup mode.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in project management or operations
- Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills; keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with high initiative and the ability to thrive in a startup-like, fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse partners
- Proficiency in project management tools
Preferred:
- Background or demonstrated interest in quantum technologies, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, or related fields
- Experience working with federally or state-funded projects
