Colorado’s Multimillion Dollar Investment in Quantum Gets 70-Acre Campus in Arvada

Feature1

Two months after winning a $130 million federal grant to invest in a quantum computing hub in Colorado, members of a local consortium have acquired a 70-acre property in Arvada, attracted millions more in funding commitments, and, on Monday, put shovels to the ground.

That’s relatively quick in a realm where private industry must rely on public agencies and area universities to make decisions.

“Colorado and the Mountain West are on top not just because of the amazing scenic views but ultimately because of decades of innovation and startups that are right around risk taking and smart policy and startup entrepreneurialism,” Zachary Yerushalmi, CEO of the Elevate Quantum consortium, told a small crowd during the ceremonial groundbreaking. “Entrepreneurship is, of course, no stranger to Gov. Polis, and the support for this effort and wider advanced technology policies of the state going back decades is why we stand here today.”

Microsoft to Provide Priority Access to Reliable Quantum Hardware in Azure Quantum

Feature2

Today, we continue to make advances that bring us closer to achieving it with our industry-leading partners, Quantinuum and Atom Computing. With both companies, we want to bring best-in-class solutions to the Azure Quantum platform, and collectively advance and scale resilient quantum capabilities.

In collaboration with Quantinuum, we applied our improved qubit-virtualization system to create and entangle 12 highly reliable logical qubits. This represents the largest number of entangled logical qubits, with the highest fidelity, on record.

Lastly, as we expand our Azure Quantum compute platform, we are excited to announce that Microsoft and Atom Computing are coming together to ultimately build the world’s most powerful quantum machine.

Quantinuum unveils its accelerated path to Universal Fully Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing

Feature5
Earlier this month, Quantinuum unveiled its quantum computing technology development roadmap. By the end of this decade, Quantinuum will build a large-scale, highly accurate quantum computer capable of tackling problems considered intractable for today’s supercomputers. Quantinuum already is well on its ways. Recently, the company also demonstrated, with Microsoft, what rapid acceleration looks like with the creation of 12 highly reliable logical qubits – tripling the number from just a few months ago. Among other demonstrations, Quantinuum supported Microsoft to create the first ever chemistry simulation using reliable logical qubits combined with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC), producing results within chemical accuracy. This is a critical demonstration of what Microsoft has called “the path to a Quantum Supercomputer.”

The Bear Roars, a New Podcast by Dan Caruso, features Vescent CEO Dr. Scott Davis

bearroars
Elevate Quantum partner Dan Caruso launched a new podcast – The Bear Roars – and sat down with Dr. Scott Davis, CEO and co-founder of Vescent, a developer and manufacturer of novel electro-optic and precision laser technologies. Vescent, which applies Nobel Prize Winning Frequency Combs technology, is a great example of a “pick-and-shovels” play in Quantum Technology. In this episode, Scott shares more about his entrepreneurial journey, practical applications of quantum technology, and his passion for the quantum ecosystem.

Translational Quantum Research Seed Grant Window Now Open

Feature4
In partnership with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), the Cubit Quantum Initiative at CU Boulder welcomes proposals for translational quantum research seed grants. Seed grants are open to any Colorado research institution and industry partners. These seed grants incentivize innovations launched out of the lab and help them along the development path to new programs and businesses. This second round of seed grants offers up to eight awards, each worth up to $50,000.
