About Elevate Quantum
Elevate Quantum is 501c3 non-profit that is dedicated to dramatically accelerating the commercialization of quantum technologies. Our organization consists of the largest quantum industry cluster in the United States. With over 120 organizations spanning Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming, Elevate Quantum is uniquely positioned to transform cutting-edge research into world changing companies. Our mission is to ensure U.S. economic and strategic security and to establish leadership in the Quantum Century.

Elevate Quantum (EQ) is recognized as a Designated TechHub by the U.S. Department of Commerce, a testament to our role in advancing quantum technology. This designation has brought federal and state investments, including a $40.5 million award aimed at building our operations and ensuring sustained growth and innovation in quantum technology.

Consortium Members
Our consortium features leading names in the quantum industry such as Quantinuum, Atom Computing, Infleqtion, and Maybell Quantum. We are also partnered with market giants like Google, Microsoft, AWS, and Lockheed Martin and research powerhouses like Sandia, NIST, CU Boulder, LANL, Colorado School of Mines, and more. This mix of leading companies, research organizations, and workforce builders like Front Range Community College, Emily Griffith Technical College, NCWIT, and others, will help us ensure that we maintain rigorous attention to detail while navigating a fast-moving and dynamic environment.

About the Role
A cornerstone of Elevate Quantum’s commercialization mission is standing up the Quantum COmmons, a 70-acre quantum technology campus in Arvada, CO housing office space, lab space and a photonic integrated circuit fab facility. At the heart of the campus is the Quantum Lab, a 14,000 sq. ft. shared-use facility offering advanced R&D, prototyping, and testing services to early and mid-stage quantum companies. Designed to support both AMO and solid-state quantum technologies, the lab will house state-of-the-art test and measurement equipment, reducing barriers to entry and enabling rapid innovation through shared resources and technical expertise.

Set to open in early 2026, the Quantum Lab is seeking a Quantum Lab Scientist to help launch and operate this one-of-a-kind facility.

We are seeking a Quantum Lab Scientist to join our fast-paced, mission-driven team. This individual will be a critical member of Elevate Quantum’s commercialization team with a particular focus on supporting the successful development, launch, and operation of our Cryogenic Quantum Lab. Elevate Quantum’s Cryo Lab will be housed inside The Quantum Lab and offer access to Dilution Refrigerators used by our customers for testing, measurement, and evaluation of a wide range of quantum technologies across various applications. The Quantum Lab Scientist will be critical in ensuring the success of not only EQ but more importantly its customers. This position will be responsible for engaging with Cryo Lab future and current customers in configuring, set up, and ongoing support of their cryo tests.

In addition to leading the Cryogenic Quantum Lab at Elevate Quantum, the Quantum Lab Scientist will support operations of EQ’s Lab through management, maintenance, and training on the shared use equipment. The Quantum Lab Scientist will play a pivotal role in identifying and advising in future equipment purchases.

Ideal candidates should possess strong customer service skills as they will work closely with startup and more established companies at EQ’s Lab to help drive their technology forward. EQ is a small and agile team, we are seeking candidates who are willing to “roll up their sleeves” and enjoy learning new technologies and engaging with engineers and scientists. Successful candidates will especially have a deep background and proven hands-on experience in superconducting quantum systems, quantum control, and measurement.

Key Responsibilities
• Work with cutting edge quantum hardware and software systems and support Lab users through the conception, design, development and refinement of cryogenic systems, qubit control, and metrology needs
• Assist customers with solid state testing, including setup, implementation, and debugging in Elevate Quantum’s Cryo Lab
• Develop and perform test and characterization protocols of products from customers and partner organizations
• Manage inventory and shared use equipment in the Lab including scheduling equipment rentals, providing support based on individual user needs, and maintaining lab equipment and tools including annual calibrations, services, and any necessary repairs.
• Support Lab startup and operational efforts including developing and managing SOP’s, safety protocols, and training procedures for lab users to ensure that safety and operational standards are met.
• Assist with other tasks as needed.

Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Applied Physics, Optics, Material Science or Engineering with demonstrated hands on experience with superconducting quantum systems
• 2-5 years applied experience with quantum devices and dilution refrigerators
• Experience with the design and implementation of solid state/superconducting experiments including familiarity with quantum hardware, control, measurement equipment, best practices, and commonly used scientific software
• Familiarity with and skilled in the use of a wide range of laboratory test and measurement equipment found in typical R&D facilities
• Previous experience building out an R&D lab and lab management experience preferred
• Experience with Python
• Self-starter with ability to drive results independently
