Bifrost Electronics Secures $2.5 Million Seed Funding for Quantum Amplifier Development

Bifrost Electronics, a Colorado-based quantum startup, has raised $2.5 million in seed funding. The round was led by Caruso Ventures, with participation from Harlow Capital and other investors. This funding is intended to accelerate the development of Bifrost’s quantum amplifiers, which are designed to address the readout bottleneck in quantum hardware.
Bifrost has developed a class of magnetically insensitive, scalable, electro-optic quantum amplifiers. The company’s approach involves applying materials science and precision engineering to its amplifier architecture, aiming to optimize systems for reliability and integration. Bifrost’s technology supports a range of qubit platforms, including superconducting qubits and spin qubits. The company states it is the only U.S. commercial producer of quantum-limited amplifiers and the sole producer of scalable, magnetically insensitive electro-optic amplifiers.
